Travel with confidence

Travel insurance

A medical emergency overseas can cost more than the trip itself. We help you choose travel insurance that matches where you are going, what you are doing, and what is already covered.

What it covers

  • Overseas medical treatment and emergency evacuation
  • Cancellation, delays and disrupted plans
  • Luggage, gear and personal belongings

Who it's for

Families heading overseas, frequent travellers who want annual cover, and visitors to New Zealand who want cover for their stay.

Common mistakes we see

  • Buying on price alone, then discovering the medical limits are far too low.
  • Travelling against medical advice or to a 'do not travel' destination, which voids most policies.
  • Not declaring a pre-existing condition — the most common reason claims are declined.

Questions to ask before you buy

  • Does this policy cover my pre-existing conditions, or can they be added?
  • What are the medical limits — and would they cover a hospital stay in the USA or Japan?
  • Am I covered for the activities I have actually planned — skiing, diving, hiking?

How we help

We match the policy to your itinerary and health, explain the exclusions before you leave, and help you through the claim if your trip goes wrong.

“Eduard found cover for my husband's heart condition that other insurers wouldn't touch. We travelled with real peace of mind.”

Common questions

When should I buy travel insurance?

Straight after you book and pay your first deposit — cancellation cover starts then, not at the airport.

Are pre-existing conditions covered?

Some policies automatically cover a list of stable conditions, others offer a medical assessment. We disclose and check — this is where most declined claims start.

Do I need travel insurance for trips within New Zealand?

Domestic policies exist for cancellation and belongings, and some cover rental vehicle excess. It depends on what you have prepaid.

What's the difference between single-trip and annual cover?

Annual multi-trip cover usually saves money if you travel more than twice a year, with per-trip limits to check.

Does my credit card travel insurance count?

It can, but activation rules are strict — you usually must pay for the whole trip on that card, and limits are often lower than a standalone policy.
